Dear Troncones Land Owner:

Your friends and neighbors are joining together in an effort to speak for Troncones in “one voice.” You are cordially invited to join us. Your $100.00 US Association fee will buy you a vote in the future of Troncones. Multiple lot owners may want to join with more than one lot. This is their choice. Each lot/Association membership will hold one vote. Among the advantages membership in our “Asociacion Para La Conservacion Ambiental De Troncones, A.C.” will bring us are:

  1. The strength to lobby for local use of our tax money.
  2. The ability to receive grant moneys for local projects.
  3. The power to buy and to bargain collectively.
  4. The wisdom to proceed with a consensus of land owner thinking.

The Association fees will be used to pay the required registration, notary, and accounting fees, and will also be used for other Association expenses (paper, mailing, etc.) The interim Board of Directors has drawn proposed by-laws for this LEGAL, non-profit organization, and includes them with this letter. They will be voted on at a general Association Assembly to be held on July 23, 1999. If you wish to vote, please deposit your Association fee in the LEGAL bank account at the Laredo National Bank, 700 San Bernardo Ave., Laredo, TX 78040. The account name and account number is International Settlement Co. #xxxx

The wire transfer (ABA) xxxx.  Please be sure to get confirmation numbers for your deposits.

This is your receipt and the bank’s deposit requirement. You must FAX OR E-MAIL THE ASSOCIATION THIS CONFIRMATION NUMBER. This is the only way we have to know that you made a deposit. Or use the confirmation number space on the enclosed ballot. You may also join by giving your Association fee to the Association’s interim Treasurer, Bob Hoebermann by this date.

A vote will also be held at this assembly to elect this year’s officers. The nominees are listed on the following ballot. If you have additional nominations, please inform us. Keep in mind that, at least for the time being, the officers must be able to attend monthly Board meetings. In order to avoid nominating a person who can’t serve, please have your nominee fax or E-mail to the above numbers, his agreement to run. Also use these numbers to ask questions and request By-law changes. Or, give any of this information to interim Secretary, Suzanne Hoebermann. Nominations, agreements to run, and change requests must be received ONE WEEK before the General Assembly.

Sooner or later we face decisions concerning the bridge, water, road maintenance, electrical upgrade, and telephone service installation. As Associates, we have a say in the direction these projects take, and which to consider first. Committees will be formed to study the two projects that the Associates vote most urgent. The committee findings and budget estimates will then be presented to the Associates for their consideration.

Enclosed please find a ballot. If you have joined the Association by the end of banking hours on July 19, 1999, you are entitled to one vote for each paid, lot/ Association membership. You can vote personally, by electronic ballot, or by proxy at the July 23, 1999, Assembly. Electronic and proxy ballots must be received 48 hours before the Assembly. Associates with voting privileges for future issues will, of course, be accepted after this deadline. Please INCLUDE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS, so that the minutes of each assembly, an agenda of the next Assembly, and a ballot, if called for, can easily and inexpensively be sent (to members only).  Also please indicate whether or not you are interested in receiving information from the Secretary about future issues and events that are not strictly business, but that the Board of Directors think would be beneficial to Troncones, i.e., the December Troncones Art Show, etc.

Agenda for the July 23, 1999, general Asşembly of the “Asociacion Para la Conservacion Ambiental De Troncones. “A.C.”.
