Majahua is a fishing village located on a bay at the north end of the Ejido. The Majahua area was known for its fishing, especially lobsters and oysters. People came there to fish and take their catch to Ixtapa, Barra de Potosi and even Acapulco. Eventually in the 1960’s people settled there and established a fishing cooperative. In the 1970’s the area was included in the Ejido.
Today Majahua still retains its “fishing village” vibe but has also become a modern community.
